Living in a Cartoon World
I’m living in a cartoon world
In a world filled with too many Pinocchio’s
Every time one opens their mouth
Another inch grows
On their wooden nose
The big bad Wolf is trying to blow Danger Mouse’s straw house down
He blows and blows
The straw house still stands
He will not meet the big bad Wolf’s demands
As most of the world tries to join hands
I feel so small in this oversized cartoon world
There are too many caricatures in this warped, distorted land
Drawn by the imaginative artist’s hand
Vying for their own cyber space
In this 24 hour media race
Wanting to make the headlines
Every day
I know the world will one day wake up
From this cartoon world of unspoken woke
This world will become real once more
The Artist can put his cartoon pen in the real wooden draw
I will no longer feel so vulnerable and small
The cartoon world will eventually grow
Into the real world
The Pinocchio’s will become real once more
Speaking common sense again
No more over exaggerated caricatures
They will be cut down to size
The world will be calm once more
We will close the ginormous door in this cartoon world
We will bang open the normal sized door
Living for real
