The World Keeps Turning
The world keeps turning
While I live in the dark shadows
The world keeps changing
I no longer recognise
A world I once knew is left further behind
A tired wondering world
As the world of too many rules shakes in our sweating hands
Propaganda, exaggeration, inflation
Skewered misguided information
This sometimes feels like caricature land
Little things have multiplied
Living in the shadows
We seek out the shining light
Wetting our toes in the flowing stream of life
Catching the refreshing breeze in my auburn hair
A red rosy face
Catching a glimpse of looking back
Moving forward as I can’t stop this world turning
This alien world is now becoming the strange norm
What we thought or remember or what we believe
The once firmly made foundations under our feet
Ripped, torn and dug up around our bare feet
While we retreat to the shadows
We seek out the constant
The constant has now gone
This world keeps turning
We have lost our grip
We have lost our hold
The world keeps turning
We live in the shadows
We find the light
We feel the grass underneath our feet
Maybe this spinning entwined world
Will always be wild and free
