The Great Escape

The great escape

Means so many different things to me

Watching the well known movie

As I go on holiday

Catching the sun

Soaked in the rain

I try to escape my pain

I write a poem

I write a poem again and again

Whilst looking after my hurting brain

As I make my pictures

They are my mind’s artistic escape

A day off work

A day doing absolutely nothing at all

Maybe, the greatest escape of them all
