Mermaid

Trigger warning

Mermaid

I wanted to rest my head

I wanted to sleep

My oyster bed

Rested on the sandy uneven sea bed

The beautiful colours of the fish

I swim through coral and seaweed

The pearls and gems

On the sea bed

Glistening and sparkling beneath the blue sea

I wear a bracelet of pearls

You might have guessed I don’t have legs

One big fin

Blue and green scales where my legs would be

A beautiful mermaid dress

Fitted to my legs

Shapely and curvaceous

A few little fins

I am beautiful deep within

Long auburn hair down my back

My breasts run free

Bobbing along with the current of the sea

I breathe the sea

I breathe the air

I am a princess of land and sea

My face human too

I am a beautiful mermaid

I can swim and dive

Finding pearls

I flow with the sea

I put my head above the water

I see the amazing sky

The green luscious land

I hope one day to walk

That is just a dream

Only when I find my Prince

What are the chances of that happening?

I swim and dive

I love life

Land and sea

I’m a mermaid

I am no one special

Just a mermaid of the sea

One day you may see me

Myth or legend?

Real or fiction?

Who cares

Mermaids exist somewhere

Fantasy or reality?

You will find a mermaid somewhere
