I am a rarity
I am a real rarity
I mainly survive in captivity
My natural home has been destroyed by many human hands
Bulldozing over my green forest lands
Where my food does naturally grow
Bamboo tastes wonderfully beautiful
You know
I munch on my bamboo all day
As I sit in my comfy tree
How I wish I had brothers and sisters to play with me
When we are born
It is so rare
News of our birth
Reaches everywhere across the globe
My species still lives in hope
I can only hope
As I sit in my tree
The visitors think
I am just soft and cuddly
Like a giant teddy bear
I have black and white soft fur
If threatened
I can be scary
Most of the time
I just sit quietly
Now the humans want to save me
I can only be truly happy
In my natural habitat
I hope to one day to return to that
Sitting in my own tree
Brothers and sisters playing with me
The only place I can truly be free
If you haven’t guessed already
I am a panda bear
