Hope
Hope floats
On a lily pad in a calming stream
As a toad jumps from lily pad to lily pad
Hoping he doesn’t fall in
The butterfly
Hopes she lives a long time
As her painted wings
Bring some natural, understated bling
The Queen bee
Hopes her workers make lots of lavender honey
I hope the sun does shine
The rain does fall
I hope I make another snowball
I hope to breathe in every word
I hope to watch words fall into place
I hope to write poetry most days
