Today I opened my chocolate advent calendar

I could not wait

The anticipation of what is behind the cardboard door

What is behind the shiny tin foil

I opened the cardboard door

To reveal a Teddy Bear wearing a beautiful woollen scarf

As I pealed back the shiny tin foil and crinkled it in my hand

I found a minimalist snowflake

I’m sorry I couldn’t wait

I ate my beautifully smooth white chocolate

Tomorrow another cardboard door awaits
