It is New Year again

Always listed the top 10 boys and girls names

Some are old

Some well used

Some new

Some we are unable to pronounce or spell

We grow into our names

Some of us grow out of them

At some point we all hate our name and years later grow to like them again

We shortened it, lengthened it

Use a nickname

Some of us just rename

The famous song of names

I was always miffed that Hull Group missed off my name

Dolly sang about Jolene and Neil about Sweet Caroline

I am sure there’s lots more but I can’t think of any at this time

Siblings jealous they did not get a middle name

Really all this fuss

A name is so we know who is who

We are personality and temperament, empathy and each unique

Don’t waste your time on love or hate or debate

Really what’s in a name?

It means something to someone

Nothing to no one

It is nice to know that your name means something to everyone

So we know who is .......

Tom, Tom, George, Joe, Jo, George, Harrison, Lisa, Sarah, Jacob, Tom
