The Unknown Poet
The unknown poet
I found her picture in the old note book
Many pages of poetry
About her adventures and her great tour of the world
How she dived for pearls in the deep blue sea
How she caught slithering sliding fish in her bare hands
She felt their colourful metallic scales
The beautiful fish wafted it’s fan like tail
How she felt the warm sand stick to her sea soaked feet
How she was free
She could have been anybody
She could have been anywhere
People didn’t care
She wasn’t a lady of society there
No tight starchy corsets to wear
No many layered long restricting dresses to wear
No tight crippling leather brown boots to squash her dainty feet
She is free to be who ever she wants to be
She is free to write wild and exciting poetry
Poetry her inked drug
Taking her to imagination ecstasy
She is a lady of society
She dresses prim and proper
Society expects that of her
To me she could have been anybody
I could have seen her anywhere
I wish I could have met her
I found a picture of her in an old notebook
Many pages of poetry
I can write about her great adventures and her great tour of the world
The unknown poet
