Rest in Peace Our Graceful Queen
The world did thunder
The world did lighten
Tears of rain did gracefully fall
The television turned black
The television came back on
We heard on the news
Queen Elizabeth II has peacefully gone
She shone like a bright beacon in the dark sky
She was Britain’s familiar Grandmother
Always had a welcoming smile
Spreading across the whole of the modern world
She lived through the Second World War
Our voice of reassurance in the pandemic
She was our Commander in Chief
She loved her horses, corgis and family
She held her stiff upper lip
When time’s were exceptionally tough
She was dutiful, respectable, beautiful and graceful
She spoke to me, to you and everyone
She forgot no one
She gave her heart to everyone
She met James Bond and Paddington
No matter what colour, language or race
She held the world’s attention with her welcoming and homely embrace
She met the many peoples of the new information world
Travelling across the vast world
The longest reigning Queen
She was our once in a lifetime Queen
The likes of you
We will never see again
Rest in Peace our dear dutiful Queen
You have been truly amazing!
