I’ve asked really nicely

There is a change in this close atmosphere

We have been sweltering

Sticky and decidedly hot

Today, someone has switched the cooler on

Yet, still this air weighs a tonne

The wind and breeze

The trees branches are like a cool paper fan

Twisting and turning

How I long, to feel the rain on my skin

I anticipate a thunder and lightning storm will soon begin

The earth and my skin

I long to feel the storming rain

I long to taste you again

On my hungry lips

Feel the moist rain beneath my bare feet

Let’s forget this drought

Let the rain pelt wonderfully down

Soak the dry ground

Please, please let it rain
