Our own Ship

Our own Ship

As we navigate this ship

Through the glistening dark and the silvery light

Of our changing flavoursome lives

The big exciting city of London

We look fondly down upon

The golden windows of this historic place

Has ancient flare and grace

Big Ben does chime

Many, many times

The Houses of Parliament’s influencing our social and working lives

Yet, we navigate our own ship

As we only dip our fingertips in this manic, fast moving city

We fly to freedom in our own ship

Taking the rough waves of the evening gloomy skies

Along with the smooth shining warming days

We navigate to our own sense of freedom

Going out and living on our own

No maps or instructions to follow

Yet, London city

We will always want to dip our toes

The ship will always be drawn home

By a mysterious magnetic human pull

London you are wonderfully beautiful

We can never truly leave you

Each of us try to

Flying our own ship

Occasionally, taking a little dip

When London is truly missed
