Feline Dreams
I wake up
I do not feel quite the same
I stretched out and made sounds of meow
I might scratch you
My arms and hands
Have been transformed
I’ve never had four furry legs before
Or paws with sharp white claws
I feel so agile and light on my padded feet
I want to have some devilish mischief
Maybe, playing with my owners feet
I feel very hungry
Breakfast of mackerel and crunchy cereal
With lashings of cold creamy milk
My world is all on ground level
As I skate on these slippery kitchen tiles
I feel so incredibly small
My owners are like giants
As I weave between their ankles
I realise I have a long twirling tail
My sense of smell
Intensifies
I feel so incredibly alive
I think, I’m a house cat
As I lounge on my comfy sofa
It must be time for an afternoon cat nap
It’s a hard life being a kitty-cat
I smell a big juicy rat
I’m curious
It could be my very first catch
I’ll try that
Instead, I slide on the bristle like welcome home matt
My bum felt that
The day has turned into night
I want to switch on the bright lights
I can’t reach with my reduced height
I jump up the stairs
I try to find my bed
I feel like a sleepyhead
I definitely haven’t been my usual self
I feel like a cat on a bedroom shelf
I really don’t feel myself
I wake up
It must have been a dream
As I lick clean my cereal bowl
Filled with delicious cereal and milky cream
I must have had a feline dream
I have only just realised
I have giants feet
As my kitty-cat weaves in between my ankles
He is so agile and sleek
I dreamed, I was once a kitty-cat
When I fell asleep
It was all kinda neat
