Chequered Floor

Chequered Floor

I stepped into the giant chequered floor

I spoke a word

It echoed out loud

My words came back to me

Echoing and repeating each word I speak

The ceiling so wonderfully high above me

I felt so small

I couldn’t see the beginning

I couldn’t see the end

I was stuck on the glistening floor

I saw the light through the large windows

This never ending hall

It would take me hours to walk

The beautiful ceiling a work of art

I wanted to see it all

I felt a crick in my neck as I tried to look up

It will take me forever to get anywhere

My tiny feet stuck to the chequered shiny floor

I just took in the scenery

I didn’t know where I was

No comprehension of what the time was

How long has I been stuck to the chequered floor

How I felt so small

I felt so tired as I started to walk to the distant light

I didn’t know if it was day or night

As I walk, I feel as if I can fly

I’m in a dreamworld

I can awake and escape

The giant chequered slippery floor

I will no longer feel so small

I won’t be able to fly

I won’t be able to float

In this giant hall with the amazing chequered floor

I just awoke
