A Hundred Years From Now
A hundred years from now
This world will be totally different
No writing
No literature
No poetry
Only dystopia
The world of science fiction
Now taken over
As a daily fight for petrol goes on
Bikers on a hundred year old Harley Davison’s
Made up from numerous rustic spare parts
Gigantic and deafening loud
Streams of thick grey smoke abound
They do not resemble a Harley motorbike
Travelling at speed in the desolate hot desert landscape
I expect to see Mad Max
Leaving his zigzagged motorbike tracks
A hundred years from now
The world is totally different
No writing
No literature
No poetry
Only dystopia
The world of science fiction
Now taken over
In this sticky prickly drenching heat
My lips cracking and red sore
Mouth so unimaginable dry
As a daily fight for fresh water goes on
Another rare commodity soon to be gone
Half the world now wild and desolate
Food and water unbelievably expensive
The other half of the world
All the world’s salt oceans meet
I feel like Kevin Costner in Water World
Dystopia?
It does not resemble our ancient world at all
A hundred years from now
This world will be totally different
No writing
No literature
No poetry
Only dystopia
The world of science fiction
Now taken over
As a daily fight for our mind and thoughts goes on
Am I really here?
This unknown and unseen government
Hungry our my mind and thoughts
There is no money only rationed tokens
Is my body fast asleep?
Have I got chemicals slowly drip feeding me?
Am I suspended in a dreamworld reality?
I can no longer touch or taste
Will I meet Keanu Reeves in this made up science fiction reality?
I must have stepped into a movie being made
The Matrix
I am fighting mind games
It feels like I’m being videotaped
Mind erased and memories remade
In this suspended unnatural unreal reality
Am I in dystopia ?
Am I just in the cinema watching a science fiction triple bill?
Am I in a new unrecognisable world?
A hundred years from now?
