A funny little mouse

Came across some butterfly wings

Just the right size

Fragile and light

A beautiful sight

He felt like a fairy

He wanted to try

He wondered would the wings fly

Flapping like a butterfly

Mid flight

His feet and hands above the floor

His new butterfly wings

He adored

The other mice and rats

Even the big clawed cats

Had never seen a mouse with butterfly wings

Flying to the ceiling of the sky

Like a funny mouse with angel wings

He was flying

It was nearly time to give them back

To the butterfly

The wings were just the right size

It was time

To leave the butterfly wings

Behind

He would always remember being

The funny little mouse with butterfly wings

Flying up to the ceiling of the sky

It feels like he was just dreaming
